MALAYSIAN JUNIOR SCIENCE OLYMPIAD (MyJSO)
MyJSO is an annual national level competition in the Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) for students who are under sixteen years old. This competition is the subsequential to Kancil Science Competition.
SELECTION PROCESS
There will be no registrations open for this competition. Top Students from Gamma category (student age 13, 14, and 15 years old) in Kancil Science Competition will be invited to participate in MyJSO. A letter of invitation will be sent via email after the announcement of Kancil’s result. Top 20 contestants from MyJSO will be invited to attend the Final Selection Test and the best 6 students will be selected and trained in order to represent Malaysia in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). IJSO 2025 will be hosted in Russia.
MYJSO FORMAT
The format includes an MCQ paper (10 questions each for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), a Theory paper (2 questions each for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), and an Experiment paper (1 question each for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), as per the IJSO format.

INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR SCIENCE OLYMPIAD (IJSO)
IJSO is an annual individual and team competition in the Natural Sciences for students who are under sixteen years old on 31st December of the competition year. IJSO has been established in recognition of the significance of the Natural Sciences in the general education of young people and in all aspects of their lives. It is a purely educational event. Previously, IJSO has been participated by 67 countries all around the world. Learn more about IJSO through their official website. IJSO 2024 will be hosted by Romania.
In order to be selected to participate in IJSO, the medalist of Kancil Science Competition (gold, silver and bronze) from Gamma category (student aged 13, 14, and 15 years old) will be invited to participate in Malaysian Junior Science Olympiad (MyJSO). They will be invited via email after the announcement of Kancil’s result. Top six contestants from MyJSO will then be selected and be trained in order to represent Malaysia in IJSO 2024. MALAYSIAN TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS IN IJSO
We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the outstanding achievement of the Malaysian national team at the prestigious International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO). The dedicated and talented students representing Malaysia showcased their exemplary skills and knowledge, securing medals. Congratulations to all Malaysian team on this remarkable accomplishment, and may their success serve as an inspiration to others.
In IJSO 2023, the Malaysian team won 1 Bronze Medals that took place in Bangkok, Thailand from 1st to 10th December 2023.
