FAQs

The Kancil Science Competition is Malaysia’s largest annual science competition for primary, secondary, and pre-university students. It challenges students with critical-thinking, problem-solving, and general-science questions. In Malaysia (2025), almost 32,000 students from about 1,500 schools took part.

The competition is organized by Ardent Educational Consultants, led by Mr. Suhaimi Ramly, the President of Kancil Science Malaysia.

  • To deepen students’ understanding of scientific concepts and principles.
  • To encourage students to apply inquiry-based science skills learned in school.
  • To increase interest in science by connecting science to daily life and real-world problems.
  • To identify top secondary students who may go on to represent Malaysia in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO).

The Kancil Science Competition has been held in Malaysia since 2018.
