Kancil Science Competition, held annually since 2018, engages primary, secondary, and pre-university students in Malaysia. Focused on enhancing scientific knowledge through critical thinking and problem-solving, the competition has drawn over 101,000 students from over 5,000 schools. In Kancil 2024, 26,205 participants from 1,616 schools competed, providing a pathway for national team selection in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO).
Teacher: To register for the Kancil Science Competition 2025, teachers can share the “Public Form” link with students. Alternatively, students may inform their teacher in charge to handle their registration. To complete the registration, students must provide essential information, including their full name, age, MyKID number or passport details, gender, and the competition fee. The designated teacher must then log in to https://contesthub.my to finalize the registration process for the students.
Parents: Parents can register their child for Kancil Science Competitions through a school-appointed teacher (TIC) if the school is participating in this competition or parents can fill in a “Public Form” given from the TIC. For further registration details, please contact your child’s Mathematics teacher.
The registration deadline for the Kancil Science Competition is 28 April 2025. Be sure to complete your registration before this date to secure participation.
Unfortunately, there is ‘NO’ individual registration this year. As the competition is paper-based, students must register through their school or any participating learning center or tuition provider.
To update your details, please contact the teacher-in-charge. They have access to ContestHub and can assist in making any necessary changes.
Teachers: To get the link, follow these steps:
- Log in to your ContestHub account.
- Click on ‘List of Competitions’.
- In the action section, select ‘Add Participant.’
- Click on ‘Public Form’ and toggle the setting to ‘On.’
- Copy the generated link and share it with parents.
Parents: To get the link, please contact your child’s teacher-in-charge or mathematics teacher, who will provide you with the public form link.
You can follow the table provided below to determine the appropriate category for your child’s registration. This table will likely be based on your child’s age or year level in school.

To participate in the Kancil Science Competition, a registration fee of RM40.00 per student is required.
The payment should be submitted to the teacher in charge. Please note that the payment procedure may vary depending on the registration process set by the teacher at each school. Please consult your school’s teacher in charge of specific payment instructions and procedures.
Teachers: Payment can be made through two methods: Manual payment or via Billplzz.
Parents: Parents are required to make the payment through your child’s teacher in-charge. Alternatively, parents can use the “Public Form” to make an online payment directly via Billplzz.
Yes, once the payment is successfully made, you will receive a payment confirmation through registered email. Any payment via Billplzz will receive an email confirmation of their payment.
Unfortunately, the registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, even if the students are unable to attend the competition
All students studying in Malaysia are eligible to participate in the Kancil Science Competition, including both local (Malaysian citizens) and international students (foreign passport holders).
Students above the age of 19 and those who have already entered university are not eligible to participate in the Kancil Science Competition.

Schools under the Ministry of Education (KPM) are encouraged to have teachers conduct competitions outside of regular teaching and learning (PDP) hours, in accordance with KPM guidelines.

If your school participated in the Kancil Science Competition in 2024 and you are still teaching at the same school, you do NOT need to create a new ContestHub account. You can use your existing account to register for the upcoming competition by login using the same username and password. Kindly update your profile account.
Each school is required to appoint at least one Teacher-In-Charge (TIC) responsible for handling registration, payment, and overseeing the competition day. The designated teacher must have a ContestHub account to ensure our secretary is informed that you are the TIC representing your school. To be officially recognized as the TIC, please reach out to our customer support team using the phone number provided in the Contact Information section.
For the Kancil Science Competition, our system allows up to three teachers-in-charge to be assigned per competition. If your school requires more than three teachers, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team for assistance.
Yes, you must create a new account on ContestHub to register your students. If you register your students using a previous ContestHub account, we will assume that the students are from your previous school and we will assume that you are still a teacher there. Creating a new account ensures accurate school and teacher information.
To recover your login credentials, follow these step:
- Visit the ContestHub website: https://contesthub.my/
- Click on the “Forgot Password” link. This link is usually located on the login page.
- Enter the email address associated with your Contesthub account.
- ContestHub will send a password reset email to your inbox
The results will be released in September 2025.
The Kancil Science Competition results will be available for checking on September, 2025 at https://contesthub.my/check_results
Each student’s result has been scanned and revised three times before release. We assure zero errors, as our scanning machine detects all student answers.
Based on the percentages numbers of students receiving each type of recognition out of a total participants:
– Medal (Gold, Silver & Bronze): 10%
– Honorable Mention: 40%
– Certificate of Participation: 50%
Yes! All students will receive both an e-certificate and a hard copy of the Kancil Science certificate. The e-certificates will be available one week after the correction form closes, allowing teachers time to make any necessary corrections. The hard copies will be sent to the schools by early December.
Teacher-in-charge’s e-certificates are available upon request. Hard copies will be provided to teachers registered as the teacher-in-charge at ContestHub.
